About Ruit
Maths you can see.
Why Ruit
Nobody needs to think they are bad at maths. When you are stuck, you usually miss a picture or a step, not talent. Ruit shows why something works, lets you see it and lets you do it, with an explanation right when you get stuck.
Four blocks, always in the same order
Why, See it, Get it, Do it. Then the pitfalls, where you meet it in real life and a bit of history. Every topic shows what you need first and what comes next, so you see the thread through the subject.
Exercises that never run out
Every exercise is made by a generator: new numbers every time, with the right answer, a hint and a worked solution. Your answer is checked mathematically, so 0.5 and 1/2 are the same where that is allowed. Thousands of exercises per topic are tested automatically.
Who makes Ruit
Ruit is made by Neal Van de Velde (nealvdv), who also made Draad and Spoor. Questions, mistakes or ideas are always welcome.
Calm and private
No ads, no tracking, no required account, no streaks or notifications that make you feel guilty. What you can do is kept on your own device only.
What does Draft mean?
A topic labelled Draft is written with care but not yet checked by a maths teacher. The label goes once that check is done. Spotted a mistake? Let us know.
Draft: Not yet checked by a maths teacher.0/16of the 16 topics have been checked. The check by teachers is under way.
Ruit and Kaft
Ruit is part of Kaft, a family of learning apps with one app per subject. Part of Ruit is free, for the rest we ask a fair price. That keeps Ruit free of ads and tracking.
What does Ruit cost?
The learning path and the first 3 topics are free. For all of Ruit, you choose one of these plans:
- All of Ruit€4 a month · €36 a year
- Kaft bundle, all apps€8 a month · €69 a year
There is also a family plan, a school plan and a free social rate.
You sign in and pay on Kaft. After that, one click opens every topic here.

Each app has its own subject and its own look, with the same way of working: understanding over cramming, calm and without ads.
Where we come from
Ruit is made from a Christian conviction: every child is valuable, including those who find maths hard. The content itself is ordinary, neutral maths. What you notice is the manner: patient, honest and without guilt.
